ABOUT
Hi, I'm a professional film and video editor who has worked on a variety of projects including:

-
Short Films
-
YouTube Analysis Videos
-
Wedding Videos
-
Corporate Videos

I've been editing videos for around 5 years starting out on iMovie! I went on to teaching myself DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer and I'm now proficient in both together with Logic Pro-X. While I edit projects in DaVinci Resolve, I can design sounds in Logic Pro-X which I import into specific folders (i.e. sound effects) in DaVinci. This keeps my work organised and helps me edit projects faster!

In 2023, I received a BFI Silver Arts Award qualification where I was appointed Head of Sound and together with other film students we produced a five-minute science-fiction drama film called Standby. We presented the film at the Silver Screen Cinema in Folkestone to a wide range of people from the public to industry professionals as well as the Deputy Mayor of Folkestone.

In 2021, I achieved a distinction in Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production and it was there that I knew my pathway was 'film'. I then went on to gain a distinction in a Level 3 Diploma in Film and TV Production.

I can edit footage, dialogue and sound design at the same time which I feel is an 'invaluable' skill to have as a Film/Video Editor.

Recently, I've started my own YouTube channel called Sam Talks Film where I have edited my own videos for entertainment and education. This is a film-related channel where I analyse multiple films and look at the cinematography, sound, lightning, acting performances, score and more. I write the scripts myself for the videos and so far, my channel has a combined total of over 8000 views within a month. I've obtained strong feedback and comments from the public about my analytical work. Please see the 'Sam Talks Film' page to view my channel content.
